Reynolds Represents Rural Georgia in New Mexico

Susanne Reynolds, the Director for the Development Authority of Early County, was nominated and selected to represent rural Georgia and Early County on a community leadership panel at the USDA Rural Partners Network Convening and Training in Santa Fe (NM) from June 24-28.
During the week-long event, participants learned about best practices for achieving community goals, how to tell community stories, effective congressional direct spending preparation, grant and skills development, project management and many networking opportunities.
For Reynolds, it is the one-on-one conversations with others that she finds the most beneficial part of any conference or class: “It was enlightening to visit with leadership in New Mexico and the other RPN networks. All of the communities I met face the same challenges we do in Early County and the rest of Southwest Georgia,” she commented. “By the end of the conversation, we have discovered similar areas of opportunity and soon begin mapping out ways to achieve our community goals. Learning from others is the key to our community’s success. You never know when or where the connections will be made, so it’s important to always be ready to tell the story of Early County and Blakely...”
