Eternal Flame to Honor Veterans Finally Burns Again

After many years of sitting dark on Early County’s Court Square, the eternal flame on the Veterans Memorial finally burns bright again. In a ceremony held on Veterans Day, the torch was ceremonially lit again to remember all those from Early County who left home to defend the United States of America. Commissioner Chairman Hank Jester, Dave Atkins and Robert Henderson took part in the ceremony, as well as Early County Coroner Crystal Tolbert who sang America the Beautiful and This Little Light of Mine.

Although many have raised concerns to local leaders about getting the flame burning again, credit goes to Early County Economic Development Director Susanne Reynolds for making it happen. The community is grateful.
