Announcement: Blakely DDA/Main Street accepting apps for membership

The Downtown Development Authority of Blakely/Main Street is seeking applications to fill 2 (unexpired terms) board seat vacancies. Recommendations for membership will be considered by the City Council.
SEAT 1 (Term 6/6/23-6/6/29)
SEAT 2 (Term 6/6/25-6/6/27)
Deadline: Please return completed applications to 214 Court Square or email to susanne@downtownblakely.com by 12 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Criteria for membership - GA Code § 36-42-7 (2022):
1. City resident
2. Resident of City’s County (Early Co. Resident) and own or operate a business in the downtown development area
3. Qualified under both 1 and 2
4. Member of City’s governing body (at least 4 of the Directors in the above categories have to have or represent a party who has an economic interest in the redevelopment and revitalization of the downtown development area) - NOTE: REQUIREMENT CURRENTLY MET BY 1 ELECTED OFFICIAL WITH THE CITY OF BLAKELY (Term: 6/6/25-6/6/27).
5. Resident of Georgia and own a business in the downtown development area
The Blakely DDA/Main Street Board of Directors meet on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 pm at 214 Court Square.
